Where's My Toaster is not yet publicly launched. Today this site collects email addresses from people who ask to be notified about our launch, plus basic, cookie-less visit statistics. This policy will be expanded before the full product goes live.

Who we are

Where's My Toaster (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a product of The Split Registry. You can reach us any time at info@wheresmytoaster.com.

What we collect

When you sign up to “Be the first to know,” we collect the email address you provide and the date and time you submitted it. We do not ask for your name, payment details, or any other personal information at this pre-launch stage.

Site analytics

To understand how our coming-soon page is performing, we collect basic visit statistics. This works without cookies. For visitors who do not sign up, it is not tied to your identity; if you do sign up, see the note below. For each visit we record:

• your IP address, which we use to estimate an approximate location (typically city, region, and country, plus the network/provider your IP belongs to) — we do not store a precise, device-level location;
• the site that referred you and any campaign tag on the link you followed, and whether you clicked any of our social-media links;
• technical details about your device, browser, and connection — for example browser and operating system, screen and window size, language preferences, time zone, device type, and general network type; and
• how long the page was open.

We use this information mainly in aggregate, to measure interest and traffic. If you sign up for updates, we associate that signup with your current visit — so we can see, for example, which of our social links you clicked — which by extension links your email address to the device, network, and location details recorded for that visit. We use this only to understand engagement with our launch; we do not sell or share it. To turn an IP address into an approximate location we use ipwho.is, a third-party geolocation service that processes the IP address for that single purpose.

We process these statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. If you have questions, or wish to object to this processing, contact us at info@wheresmytoaster.com.

How we use it

• To send you launch updates, sneak peeks, and news about Where's My Toaster.
• To understand how much interest there is in the product.

We do not sell or rent your email address, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers that help us operate (for example, our cloud hosting and email delivery providers), who may only use it to provide those services to us.

How it's stored

Your email and our visit statistics are stored securely using Google Cloud services. We keep your email only for as long as we need it to tell you about the launch, and we keep analytics records only for as long as they are useful for understanding traffic.

Your choices

You can ask us to remove your email from our list at any time by emailing info@wheresmytoaster.com. Every email we send will also include an unsubscribe option once we begin sending updates.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product develops. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date above.
